picnic

this afternoon, during danny's nap, peter jon came up to me toting a blanket and asked me to have a picnic with him. i had just finished the dishes, needed to switch the laudry, and wanted to blog. i was going to say "no", but thought to myself "hey, why not?" and so we fixed a snack, spread the blanket on the trampoline, and tried to keep delilah out of the way. it was such a lovely half hour, we joked around and sang silly songs and ate and had fun. i love this little boy and am so grateful that i took the time to have fun with him today :)
in 1991 President Monson said "It is our solemn duty, our precious privilege—even our sacred opportunity—to welcome to our homes and to our hearts the children who grace our live". Thank You, Heavenly Father for blessing me with this sweet boy.

Good for you! :) What a fun activity. Don't know love when the good ideas come from the kids instead of you? So sweet

I love being a Mom. Especially when Michael surprises me. What a wonderful idea Peter Jon! All parents need a reason to play too!

So sweet! I often wonder how many fun moments I have missed out on with my kids. I have had plenty, but there has definitely been times when I have been too busy to notice how cute they are being. I love the quote, thanks for sharing it.
