easter fun
easter has come and gone, and so have the cousins! they came on wednessday and stayed till sunday. we sure had a lot of fun. one of our favorite things to do together is play super mario brothers on the computer.
we also had an awesome easter egg hunt. peter refrained from mowing the lawn for 2+ weeks so that the grass would be long, perfect for hiding eggs.

blessing #3
tommorrow the new president of the US will be sworn into office and i am feeling very grateful for being a citizen of the United States of America. i am grateful for the freedoms that i enjoy, and i am especially grateful for those who serve in the armed forces. i have a right and a responsibilty to this the country, and i pray that with every passing day i live worthy of that responsibility.
my grandpa, Calvin Cook, served in the navy during World War II and the Korean War (his service profile can be viewed at lonesailor.org, a site paying tribute to this Nations sea men) i am so proud to call this man my granddad.
'cause baby, look at you now!
me at 1 yr old
"Live with Regis and Kelly" is having their annual most beautiful baby contest and i can't help thinking that i would have won if it was 27 years ago. i mean, come on! look at me!! i was adorable!! i'm sending in danny's pic for a chance at the prize, i think he has a pretty good chance. it doesn't hurt that he looks like his mommy :)danny 22 months

backwards
why is it that i am always learning things from my children? isn't that backwards? danny is so friendly and inviting, giving love to everyone he see's. yesterday at church he shook hands with a sweet sister who is 80 years old and in a wheel chair, without me prompting him! he just wanted to shake her hand, and then he talked to her for a while. i had to translate, the sister apparently doesn't speak toddler. he did a good thing that day. when did i lose that? when did i stop loving my neighbor? danny, thanks for the reminder. i love you!

picnic
this afternoon, during danny's nap, peter jon came up to me toting a blanket and asked me to have a picnic with him. i had just finished the dishes, needed to switch the laudry, and wanted to blog. i was going to say "no", but thought to myself "hey, why not?" and so we fixed a snack, spread the blanket on the trampoline, and tried to keep delilah out of the way. it was such a lovely half hour, we joked around and sang silly songs and ate and had fun. i love this little boy and am so grateful that i took the time to have fun with him today :)
in 1991 President Monson said "It is our solemn duty, our precious privilege—even our sacred opportunity—to welcome to our homes and to our hearts the children who grace our live". Thank You, Heavenly Father for blessing me with this sweet boy.
